Did you know that it is the law in San Diego to recycle in your home (ok, so it's technically called a City Ordinance)? Failure may result in fines. Well we've been recycling for years.. I don't think the law really changed our habits at all.
We have two trash cans in our kitchen, one for regular trash and one for recyclables such as paper, cardboard, and plastic. We have a separate third container for cans and drink bottles because my husband collects this for work. They save the money from drink recycling all year long and then they use the money to buy gifts for a few charities at Christmas time. Anyway, you can imagine what my trash closet looks like.
Rubbermaid recently gave me the opportunity to review their new hidden recycle at no charge.

I really like this product although I wasn't able to use it in any of my cabinets. First I tried using the hooks and my doors were too thick then I tried the screw option and my door was just too small plus underneath my sink was too full to allow room for this. I was still convinced that I could make this work. It's so versatile. I finally ended up using the hooks to attach it to my existing trash can and it's perfect! It looks small but it holds a surprising number of cans.
(door too thick) (door not wide enough)
This would also be a great product for a lot of other applications such as a trash can for your vehicle or an extra trash can for parties.
Guess what... Rubbermaid has generously offered another Hidden Recycler for me to giveaway on this blog! They retail for $15.99 and currently can be purchased at Rubbermaid.com and Meijer.
